    Author: 2008-12-30 13:29:38 From:

In this tutorial I will show you how to create a sunset scrapbook photo frame in Fireworks CS3. You will need to have Fireworks CS3 to use this tutorial. We will be using the new styles in CS3 to create this frame. You can use this sunset photo frame for digital scrap booking or you can use it for other things. I will take you step by step through this tutorial. Open Fireworks CS3 and create a new canvas to work on.

The first part is creating the background part of the frame. You will need to get your rectangle tool and draw the background. The size is up to you. The size of my background is 245 by 265. But you can create it the size that you want it. Next, you will need to apply the Text Effect Small 025 style to the background. If your styles panel is not open, click Windows > Styles at the top of your Fireworks window. Click the style to apply it.

Now we will add the decoration to the frame. The border corners is created using the Border Corners 2 dingbat. You can download this dingbat from urban fonts.com if you do not have it installed. We will create the bottom right corner and then we will duplicate the others. Grab the text tool and draw a text box. Type the letter o in the text box. Then change the font style to Border Corners 2. Make sure the bold is not applied. If bold is applied, it will be to thick. Change the color to white. The size will depend on how big you made the frame. I used a size 60 for my corners.

Now you will need to duplicate the other border corners. Right click on the corner that you just created. Click Edit > Duplicate in the menu that drops down. Drag the duplicated corner to the bottom left. Click the duplicated corner to select it. Then go to the top of your Fireworks CS3 window and click Modify > Transform > Flip Horizontal.

Duplicate the bottom left border and drag it to the top left corner. Go to the top of your window and click Modify > Transform > Flip Vertical. Duplicate the bottom right corner and drag it to the top right corner. Click Modify > Transform > Flip Vertical. There is your four corners.
