Create a zooming in effect with gradients in Fireworks
In this tutorial you will learn how to give a 3D Zoom effect to an image.
Step 1
Paste an image on the canvas.
Step 2
With the image selected click on Filters>Eye Candy>Bevel Boss
Step 3
The following values must be given for the Basic option. Bevel Width - 16, Height - 50, Smoothness - 100, Bevel Placement - Inside marquee, Darken deep areas - 0, Shade Interior - not checked

The following values must be given for the Lighting option. Highlight brightness - 70, Size - 64, Highlight and Shadow Colors white and black (default). Click on the next tab, Bevel Profile and select cutaround.
Step 4
On the same canvas draw a rectangle of the same shape of the picture but slightly bigger than the picture. Convert it to a bitmap by right clicking on it and selecting Flatten Selection. Fill the rectangle with a shade relative to the image.
Step 5
With the rectangle selected click on Filters>Blur>Zoom Blur. In the Zoom Blur window give the values : Amount - 80 and Quality - 45.
Step 6
Notice the change of the rectangle, now move your picture over the rectangle and position it in the center of the rectangle. Here's the final image.
