Start Fireworks and create a new document with your desired width and height. We are using: 400x100 Transparent background.
Step two
Select the text tool and insert your desired text. The font size is your own choice, i am using 38px with Impact font. For a nice effect you can give diffrent colors to diffrent parts of the text you are entering. I am using a black for the first part and orange for the ".com" part.
Step three
Now select the text you just created, copy and paste it on top of the original one. Now by using the Scale Tool (Q) drag your duplicate text down so it looks upside-down. Make sure the heigh of the upside-down text is a pinch smaller then the original text (for a more realistic effect). You can also add the background color now. I am using #F1F1F1.
Step four
Now for the fun part. Making it look like a mirror effect.
- select your upside-down text
- now in the Properties pannel press the color fill
- then press Fill Options, and from the dropdown select Gradient and Linear
- reduce the Opacity to 60 and apply the effects shown in the next image :
Save your source file for later edit if you want and then by pressing : Ctrl + Shit + X export your file your desired format. I always recommand JPG for the gradients.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and feel now confident with your Fireworks Mirror effect skills.
