How to horizontally flip with the free transform tool:

• In the tool bar click on the "Free Transform Tool" icon.
• Select the object you want to edit
• Then hover over the left handle until the cursor turns into a double headed arrow.
• Hold down the left mouse and drag the cursor to the right of the object.
• Release the mouse button when the cursor is on the tight handle
