    Using this thoroughly explained, detailed lesson, you will see how to create simple but in the same time very practical and modern photo effect using a picture of model. You can use this effect for any flash header, banner, photo presentation. You don't have to use action script code to make this lesson. You will also learn how to use and apply flash filters on any object, how to use Free Transform Tool (Q) and much more!

    Step 1

    First of all, save a picture below, which we will use for this lesson!



    Step 2

    Create a new flash document. Press Ctrl+J key on the keyboard (Document Properties) and set the width of your document to 300 pixels and the height to 200 pixels (as the dimensions of photo). Select any color as background color . Set your Flash movie's frame rate to 30 and click ok.



    Step 3

    Choose now, file > Import > Import to stage (Shortcut key: Ctrl+R) and import a photo that you just saved in step 1 into a flash stage.

    Step 4

    While the picture is still selected, go to the Align Panel (Ctrl+K) and do the following:

    1. Make sure that the Align/Distribute to Stage button is turned on,
    2. Click on the Align horizontal center button and
    3. Click the Align vertical center button.



    Step 5

    Click now on frame 5,10,15,50 and 60 and press F6 key.

    Step 6

    While you're still on frame 60, take the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the photo to select it. After that, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage.On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Advanced on it, click on Settings button set the following options and click ok.



    Step 7

    Go back now on the first frame and place the photo on the position like it is shown on the picture below!



    Step 8

    While you're still on frame 1, take the Free Transform Tool (Q), press and hold down Shift key and enlarge the photo a lot, like it is shown on the picture below!



    After you have enlarged a photo, take the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the photo to select it. Then, select Filters tab from the left side. Click after that on the plus icon and select the Blur filter. Make the adjustments as follows:

    1. Blur X and Y : 45
    2. Quality : Low



    Now, you get this:



    Step 9

    Go back now on frame 1 and press Ctrl+C key (Copy). Then, select frame 5 and press Delete key on the keyboard. After that, press Ctrl+Shift+V key (Paste in Place).

    Step 10

    While the just copied photo is still selected, repeat step 4.

    Step 11

    While you're still on frame 5, take again the Free Transform Tool (Q) and for this time decrease the photo like it is shown on the picture below!

    Step 12

    After that, select frame 10 take the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the photo to select it. Then, select Filters tab from the left side. Click after that on the plus icon and select the Blur filter. Make the adjustments as follows:

    1. Blur X and Y : 4
    2. Quality : Low

    Step 13

    Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 1 and 5, frame 5 and 10,. frame 10 and 15 and frame 50 and 60 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears. See the picture below.



    Step 14

    Go back now on frame 5. Then, go again to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. After that, for Rotate choose CW. See the picture below.



    We're done!
