Here's an easy tutorial for Flash beginners on how to achieve a simple text bevel effect.

1. Using the text tool
, write the text desired. If you want, you can use the settings as listed on the left, and type "Spoono".

2. Alright select the text and press Ctrl+B which breaks the text into a regular object. Now press Edit>Copy to copy the text. Then create a new layer
and press Ctrl+Shift+Paste which pastes the object in the exact same place. Both the text are right over each other now. Click the dot on the keyframe of the bottom layer and change the color to black.

3. Select Modify>Shape>Soften Fill Edges. Distance 8, Step 6, and Expand. Press Ok. Great, now click on the dot on the top layer, and go to Modify>Shape>Soften Fill Edges once more and on this one set it up as Distance 6, Step 6, Inset. Press okay and you're done. Simple as pie :)
