Hey! Today I'm going to show how to make a glossy button, box or logo. You can use this technique to make your own logo or buttons for your website. This is what we're going to make:

1. Open Illustrator and create a new document. Select "rounded rectangle tool":

2. Click once somewhere on the white space of your document. Now you should see that a small windows appeared, choose Width: 50 px, Height: 50px, Corner Radius: 8px.

3. So, now you see the magic BOX that doesn't look magic at all:

4. Let's add a gradient to make it look a little bit better. Find a window called "Gradient" on the right side of the screen (if you don't see it go to "window" on the top of entire window and select "Gradient"). Choose: Type: Linear, Angle: 90. Then add colors to gradient by dragging one colour to the left side and another colour to the right side.

5. If you want to use the same colours that I'm using. You can select the left colour in your gradient and adjust it in "color" tab. Characteristics of my left colour: C: 5, M:70 , Y:90 , K:12; right colour: C: 0, M:63 , Y:95 , K:0.


6. Now make another rectangle (if you have already forgotten how to do that look at first 2 steps) using different settings: Width: 45 px, Height: 25 px.

7. Select a new colour for our new box. Choose: white.

8. Oh... That ugly border... Let's remove it! Select:none (very first).

9. Place new box (ok, it's a rectangle...) on the old one using "Selection tool" (Keyboard shortcut: V). Make it look like that:

10. Pretty easy, huh?.. Let's move on. Find a "transparency" tab, it's somewhere near "gradient". Or you can go to Window and select Transparency, so this tab will show up. After finding it choose opacity: 24% (make sure that you have the smaller rectangle selected.


11. Now check if it looks like this:

12. Oh, we missed a black outline of the main box. Let's select another colour. Choose the one that you like, or you can do the same as I do.

13. Actually we've finished it, but it's empty :( .

14. Ok, let's add something to it. I'll show you how to add "Kazinou" logo into it.

 

 Get the logo, and insert it between paths (white above logo and orange under it).

By using this technique you can create your own logos. Feel free to experiment, choose another colours, size and so on... If you still have any questions do not hesitate and ask!
