
Tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro 7. The methods used are compatible with Paint Shop Pro 8, 9 and Paint Shop Pro X.
| 1 Create a new 400x200, black background image. Add a new layer ( Layers > Add New Raster Layer ). Use the Type Text tool Font Settings:

| 2 Apply Inner Bevel Filter ( Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel ) Inner Bevel Settings, After applying Inner Bevel,

| 3 Add Curved Layer ( Layers > New Adjustment Layer > Curves ) using the settings below :

| 4 Hide the background layer by clicking on the small glass icon under the layer palette.
Merge all visible layers ( Layers > Merge > Merge Visible)

| 5 Make a duplicate of your merged layer ( Layers > Duplicate ). You should have a new layer called "Copy of Merged". Hide "merged" layer. Then, make the "Copy of Merged" layer your active layer.
Now, here comes the fun part. While text selection is still active, Press Control+Shift+F keys, then Control+Down+Left arrow keys -- do this 5-10 times.

| 6 Deselect active selection by pressing CTRL+D key. Make "Merged layer" your active layer. Hide "Copy of Merged" and make the "Merged" layer visible. Choose the Rectangular Selection tool

| 7 Make all layers visible. Make Merged Layer your current layer. Pick the Selection Tool

| 8 Deselect all selection by pressing CTRL+D. Pick the Rectangular selection

| 9 Decrease Merged layer's opacity to 60% ( Layers > Properties )

| 10 Make the background layer your current layer and create a rectangular selection as shown in the image below. Make sure you set the feather back to 0.
