1.
In this tutorial you will only see how to automate the procedure of making an image black and white, but this can easily be translated to bigger and more complex actions.

First of have your image imported that you want to do this actions to.

In the actions panel (next to the history panel if you have not changes any settings in photoshop), click create new action now you have to name your action.

Now you are recording what ever your are doing in photoshop.
What I just did was.
Go to image -> adjustments -> desaturate to make the image grayscale.

Also you can make the image smallere by going to image -> image size and the resize the image.

5.
Go to the actions panel and click the stop button.

6.
What you can do now is, to import what ever image you want, locate the action we just made, click play, and then within 2 seconds it will desature the image and resize it.
