Custom company logo design with automatic shading.
1. Open Photoshop and click on File > Open to select your image your going to work with.

2. Now, click on Image > Adjustments > Channel Mixer and select the "Monochrome" check box like the image below. One advantage using "Monochrome" is it saves the shaded colors so when you pick a color using this new brush, the shaded colors are automatic.

3. Click on "Brush Tool"
and select any of the the brushes available.
4. Next, click on Edit > Define Brush and name your new brush like the image below.
5. Now your going to define a new brush set.
6. Click on the brush palette, and then click the circled arrow on the right to display the drop down menu. From here select the "Preset Manager" option. You can also access this screen by selecting "Preset Manager" from the Edit menu.
7. Scroll down until you find your brush, and then click it to select it. You can select more than one brush at a time by clicking and dragging, or using the control and shift keys while clicking.
8. Select the "Save Set" button to save your selected brushes to a set of their own. This will allow you to save your brush in its own .ABR file. It won't appear until the next time you load Photoshop, but now you can add brushes to that set as you please. Select the set from the brush palette and define new brushes like you already have to add other brushes to the set, but always remember to return to the preset manager to save the set, or otherwise your changes will be lost.
9. You can also mix and match brushes from many different sets in the preset manager to make any collection or combination you like. It can be worth categorizing and organizing your brushes, especially if you have a lot of them.

10. Create a new file 300 pixels by 100 pixels and set your color to RSS Orange #FF7400 for this example. Now click on the "Brush Tool"
, set your Brush to 75 pixels and move your mouse over your new palette and click to draw your image.

11. Notice the shading is identical to the "Monochrome" image you saved as your new brush. Now you can change your color to black #000000, click on the "Horizontal Type Tool"
and type some text to finish your logo.
12. Your finished image should look similar to the one below.
