In this tutorial I will show you how to create something like this:

First create a new document 100x35 pixels.

Then choose the "Rounded Rectangle Tool", and set radius to 2px.

Now draw a rectangle like the one above. I used this "#e29611" color for mine.

Next right-click on your layer and click on "Rasterize Layer".

You should have something like this:

Select your "Burn" tool, and start burning in the bottom of the rectangle.

Once you've done that use the "Dodge Tool" in the top of the rectangle until you've got something like this:

Choose your "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and select the upper half of your rectangle.

Now go to File>Copy, and then to File>Paste.

Now press CTRL-U and the Hue/Saturation dialog should appear.

    In Lightness type 30.

You should have something like this now:

Now right-click on the layer that was created as you pasted the top-half of the rectangle. Choose "Blending Options". Choose "Overlay" in "Blend Mode".

After you've done that your button should look something like this:

Now select your "Dodge Tool" again.

Select the layer with the entire rectangle.

Start dodging in the middle of the rectangle until you get something like this:

    That's it.
