  • Color Balance Black

    Author: 2009-05-04 08:13:16 From:

There are some instances where you will need to color balance a black image. The problem is that Color Balance will not work on a completely black image. In order to allow me to change the color of the black image, while still keeping the high quality resolution, I use the following technique:

    Step-By-Step:

    1. Open the image that is completely black in Photoshop.

    2. Create a new layer.
    3. Select the Paint Bucket Tool and fill the layer with white.

    4. Click on the Opacity slider and lower the opacity.

    5. You will notice that the black image is now a grey tone.
    6. Click CTRL + E to flatten the image.

    7. Goto Image > Adjustments > Color Balance...
    8. Adjust the sliders to get the color that you want.

    9. You have now converted a black image to be used with the Color Balance.
