In this tutorial we will design nice calendar wallpaper for 2009 year.
Start working by creating a new file (File>New) of 1920x1200px/72dpi. Using the Paint Bucket Tool (G), give the new background layer black color. In the next steps we will try to represent an old paper:
Create a new layer where try applying the same tool, giving the new layer the color #F8D9AB 
Make a click on the same layer on the bottom part of the layers?panel on Add a Mask selection and select the Lasso Tool (L) to mark out firstly the bottom zone. ![]()
Press SHIFT button while using the same tool to mark out the zone from the picture抯 top part: ![]()
The marked zone should be painted with black color, using as usually the Paint Bucket Tool (G)
Create a new layer and select for it a standard brush, Brush Tool (B), to paint the picture抯 edges, using the color #D7A161 and the Opacity of 20%

Press Alt button and click between the brushes?layers and the previous layer on the layers?panel:

Download a set of ready to use brushes for Adobe Photoshop, named Swirls and BB_HighRes_Grunge_Textures. Create a new layer and use the brush out of the Swirls set and the color #958267. The brush should be turned over with Free Transform option

Create another new layer under the layer containing the flowers?brushes. Select a standard brush and try to paint very accurately the flowers. 
Set the next parameters for the layer with the flowers?paintings: Fill 22% 
Press Alt button and click between the layers on the layers?panel: 

On the next new layer (Create new layer) we抣l chose a standard brush and paint the top part of the picture and its bottom part. The brush has the color #A88057 and Opacity of 20% 

Press Alt button while clicking between the layers on the layers?panel: 

Create a new layer again and select here a standard brush mentioned above with white color and Opacity of 20% to make lighter the middle part of the picture:
The layer抯 parameters: Fill 67%, Blending mode-Linear Dodge 
Press Alt button while clicking between the layers on the layers?panel: 

Create one more new layer and select for it a brush out of the set BB_HighRes_Grunge_Textures. The brush has black color. 

The layer抯 parameters: Fill 58%, Blending mode-Overlay 
Make a click on the same layer on the bottom part of the layers?panel on Add a Mask selection and select the standard brush of black color to clean out the middle part of the picture. Then press Alt button and make a click between the layers on the layers?panel the same way we did before. 
Let抯 create a new layer and select the next brush out of the same set of brushes. The brush has black color. 

The layer抯 parameters: Blending mode-Overlay 
Make a click on the same layer on the bottom part of the layers?panel on Add a Mask selection and select the standard brush of black color and Opacity of 20% to erase some flowers?zones from the picture抯 middle part. Press then Alt button and make a mouse click between these layers on the layers?panel the same way we did with the previous layers: 
Create a new layer where we抣l use another brush out of the set BB_HighRes_Grunge_Textures and white color. 

Make a click on the same layer on the bottom part of the layers?panel on Add a Mask option and select the standard brush of black color (Opacity of 20%) to clean out the brush抯 ornament on its middle part and on the top and bottom parts of the picture. Press Alt button and make a mouse click between the layers on the layers?panel. 
Let抯 represent another new layer (Create new layer) and here we抣l choose another brush out of the set BB_HighRes_Grunge_Textures. The brush is of white color. 

The layer抯 parameters: Fill 62%, Blending mode-Soft Light 
Make a mouse click on the same layer on the bottom part of the layers?panel on Add a Mask option and select a standard brush of black color and Opacity of 20% to erase several parts of the flowers?zones in the middle part of the picture. Press then Alt button and make a click between the layers on the layers?panel: 
On the next new layer (Create new layer) we抣l apply a brush out of the above mentioned set, click on the top and bottom parts of the picture and choose the color #FFCD90 and the Opacity 80% 
The layer抯 parameters: Fill 43%, Blending mode-Multiply 
Press Alt button while clicking between the layers we work with on the layers?panel. 

Create a new layer and select for it a standard brush of white color and Opacity of 15% to paint the top and bottom edges of the picture: 
Next press Alt button while clicking between the layers on the layers?panel: 

Find a illustration having represented on it an Ox. 
Cut it out and insert the Ox on our basic picture. 
Create a new layer that must be painted with the #AB7E3F color, using in this case the Paint Bucket Tool (G). 
Select for the same layer the next demonstrated option: Filter>Noise >Add Noise 

The layer抯 parameters: Fill 11%, Blending mode-Vivid Light 
Next step includes inserting the year and its name under the picture with the Ox on it: 

On the right part of the ox we抣l represent a calendar, using the Rectangle Tool (U). The calendar should be divided into four equal divisions. The color chosen for this operation is #DD1F26 
We抣l write the months?names above the red lines: 

Next insert the weeks for this year. Place the calendar under the written months.
