It抯 time to draw the beetle抯 jaws, applying the Pen Tool (P). For their correction we抣l use the Convert Point Tool. Place this layer lower than the layer containing the beetle抯 head (on the layers?palette). The layer抯 color is #D4D4D4
The layer抯 parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Inner Glow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss (Contour)
Next we抣l represent the beetle抯 feelers. In this case we抣l use the same tools applied before ?the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool. The layer抯 color is #A9A9A9
The layer抯 parameters: Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss (Contour)
Make a copy of the last represented layer and choose the Free Transform selection to turn over the copy, placing it as it is indicated on the next image:
Next we have to represent the beetle抯 eyes. Select the Ellipse Tool (U) for this operation.
The layer抯 parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient抯 parameters:
Make a copy of the layer containing the eye and select again the Free Transform option to turn the copy over to have the same image from below:
Now we should draw the insect抯 paw, choosing the usual Pen Tool (P) and Convert Point Tool. The layer抯 color is #C0C0C0
The layer抯 parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss (Contour)
Make five copies of the last made layer and choose Free Transform selection to turn the copy around when necessary and place the copies the way indicated below. The layers containing the paws should be situated lower than the previous layers, composing the beetle:
Create a new layer to draw a flame of three colors, using the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M). Then we抣l paint the marked area with the Paint Bucket Tool (G). The layer抯 color is #224DD7
On the next new layer we抣l draw the next flame of the color #5BFFFF, applying the same instruments.
Select for each flame抯 layer the next demonstrated filters. On the first layer we抣l apply Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur
For the same layer we抣l apply also Filter>Blur>Motion Blur
For the second layer we must choose the same filters the first layer has.
The last third layer needs the next filter抯 option: Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur (the same applied for the first layer)
Merge down those three layers belonging to the flame in a single one (press Ctrl button to mark out the corresponding layers and press then CTRL+E). Make a copy of the new layer we抳e got and select the Free Transform option to turn the copy over and place the flame抯 layer on the left and right sides of the insect.
Create again a new layer (Create new layer) and use a standard brush (Brush Tool (B)) of a large diameter to represent a luminescence on the picture, colored with #55B4E7
On the last stage we抣l try drawing the reactive movers of the beetle, selecting the Ellipse Tool (U).
The layer抯 parameters: Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
