Welcome to Photoshop Training dot INFO
Part 1
Let’s start with “How did we create our Logo in Photoshop”?
Create new; we have selected 1800 x 280 pixels as we want the final image to be 900 x 140 pixels, as above.
We also selected Transparent as our background.
Type your desired words in the new image, we used Photoshop Training, but you can use any words you like.
Then select the text, Tip: Hold the Ctrl key and click on the text
thumbnail on your layers pallet; this will select the text, as a
selection.

Now select Channels, and create a new channel. This will create an Alpha channel.
Select Edit > Fill from your top menus; make sure that you select White as your fill color.
You should now have something like this on your screen.

Ok now comes the fun part, this is where you get to paint the drips that come from your text.
On the Alpha channel that you just made, go to Select > Deselect on your top menus, or use the keyboard short cut Ctrl + D.
Now on your tools pallet select your paint brush and resize it to fit well with your text.

Start creating drips, and don’t worry it does not have to be perfect, we will make some adjustments later on.

Once you are happy with the effect, make a copy of your Alpha channel,
Tip: Drag the Alpha channel to the “Create New Channel” icon on the
bottom of your channels pallet.
Once you have a copy then go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.

Don’t blur the channel to much; you want something that looks like this.

Ok it is looking good so far.
Now go to Image > Adjustments > Levels.

This will bring the edges back but we still want to leave a little bit of blur there.
Something like this is good.

Go to your favorite image search engine and find an image similar in style to this one.
This will be used as a displacement map for the chrome effect.

Bring this image into Photoshop, copy and paste it into your text project.
Now, with the new layer selected, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.

Ok now go back to your channels pallet, select your alpha copy
channel, make another copy of it, then go to Filter > Blur >
Gaussian Blur.
Blur the channel so it looks a bit like this.

Now with this channel selected go to Select > All.
Then Edit > Copy
Then File > New
Click OK
Then Edit > Paste.
Now you will need to save this image as a PSD, and save it somewhere on your computer that you will remember, as you will need it in a minute.
Ok Now back to the text project.
You should have something like this on your screen.
Now this is an important step, Go to Select > All
Then go to Image > Crop.
Load the PSD file that you saved earlier
Play with the distortion and smoothness sliders until you are happy.

Click OK and then go back to your channels pallet, select the first Alpha copy that you made, hold Ctrl and click on it’s thumbnail.
You should now have the first alpha channel as a selection.
Go back to RGB mode, and go to your layers pallet, then Select > Inverse.
Then hit the delete key.
You should now have something like this.

Again go to your channels pallet and select the first alpha copy you made.
Go back to your layers pallet; create a new layer under the glass filtered layer.
Now go to Edit > Fill. We chose black but it could really be any color you wish.

Now comes some more fun.
Right click on your new layer and select Blending Options
The first one you need to select is Drop Shadow
If you are using the same image size as us then just follow our
settings, they don’t have to be exact. You can always come back and
edit them later if you are unhappy with something.

Now click on inner shadow.

Now click on inner glow, first change the blend mode to multiply.
Now change the color to the color you used to fill this layer. So we
used black for the fill and we will use black for the inner glow.

Next up is Bevel and Emboss, again just use our settings.

Or just play around with the settings until you have something similar to this.

Now click on contour, and just turn the range up from 50 to about 80.

OK, now click on Satin; first change the color to white. And change the Blend Mode to screen. Play around with the distance, size and most importantly the angle, as the angle will give you so many different results.

You should have something like this.

Now click on the contour thumbnail, as we are about to create a custom contour for our text.
Change the Preset from Gaussian to Linear.
Now make a contour similar to this.

Your text should look something like this.

last thing to do in the blending options is add a color overlay. We used blue but you can use any color you like.

Click OK to assign all of the blending options to your text.
Lastly we are going to add the glass distortion to the text.
Turn on the glass distortion layer and then change the blend mode from
normal to lighten, and then play with the opacity until you are happy
with the results.
