Here is the effect that we are going to make in this tutorial.

Open a new document in Photoshop with width 1024 and height 768. You could choose any dimension you want but this is just to let you use it as a desktop wallpaper later if you really like it!





Make the foreground colour White and the background colour Black. You can do this by pressing ¡®D¡¯ first (which sets the foreground as black and background as white) and then pressing ¡®X¡¯ which switches the foreground colours.





Choose Filter>Render>Clouds. You should get something similar to the image shown below. It won¡¯t be the exact one though.





Now choose Filter>Render>Difference Clouds. Do this about 5 times. You should end up with something like this:




Okay here is the interesting bit: Choose Filter>Render>Lighting Effects and choose the following settings:



This is the result:





We are almost done. We will just need to sharpen the image a bit to make the texture show up a little more. Do this by choosing Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen.
