    This segment of tutorial exercise provides step by step instruction on creating a solid body using extrude tool.  
     
    1) Let us start a new AutoCAD drawing session as shown in the link . Now let us change the view to SW Isometric view by going to View>3D Views>SW Isometricmenu as shown in Figure 1 .

    2) Or type ¡°VIEW¡± on the command line as shown in figure 2.

    3) Now ¡°View dialog¡± box appears as shown in Figure 3.

    4) Now click ¡°Orthographic & Isometric Views¡± tab and select ¡°Southwest Isometric¡± from the list that appears and click ¡°Set Current¡± and click ok as shown in Figure 4.

    5) Now you can see that the view has changed. Now create a rectangle as shown in Figure 5. {To create a rectangle see "Drawing a rectangle - Tutorial for beginners"}

    6) Now click ¡°Extrude¡± tool from the toolbar or from Drawing>Solids>Extrude menu as shown in Figure 6 and 7 respectively.

    7) Now select the rectangle when prompted to select an object as shown in Figure 8.

    8) Now right click on the mouse and enter 5 when asked to specify the height of extrusion as shown in Figure 9.

    9) Then you are asked to enter angle of taper for extrusion as shown in Figure 10. Leave as it is and press enter in the key board or just right click in your mouse.

    10) Now the extruded solid is ready as shown in Figure 11.

    11) Now select ¡°Flat Shaded¡± from View menu as shown in Figure 12.

    12) The resultant rendered solid would be as shown in Figure 13.
