I will show you how to create text and apply some effects to it.

Load cinema 4d. When its loaded, Insert the text object in your scene, Objects> Spline Primitive> Text


Insert whatever text you want, notice the "Font" button, you can select the font of your choice as well.


Now we apply some nurbs, an "Extrude Nurbs", either select, Objects> Nurbs> Extrude Nurbs from the menu or follow this


now in the objects window, clikc and drag your text onto the extrude nurbs


your text should take form


now lets add a light to the scene, Objects> Scene> Light and in the lights "attributes" window set the Shadow to shadow maps (soft).



move your light around until you can see your text and press ctrl+r to render the scene, enjoy.
