As I mentioned before, the Layout is used for completing your scenes. This is where you load in the objects you've created, edit lights & cameras, animate things etc. As in Modeler, you can now customize almost everything to fit your own needs...
Since we already have the objects loaded into Layout, we can now start adjusting the scene of how we want the final render to look (If you don't have the objects loaded, click the "Items" Tab at the top of Layout, select "Add -> Load Object",then browse to where you saved it and load it in)...
This is just a brief exlpantion of the different AXISsses :) OK, X is across(horizontal) and Y is up (vertical) like on a graph, Z is into/out of the screen in the front view, its forward and backwards relative to your model...
In Lightwave Modeler, use Ball Numeric (ctrl + n after choosing Ball from the menu) and create a "sphere" with the following specifications. Once it is created, subpatch it (Tab). Save it, and send it to Layout. It should look something along the lines of this.
LOAD THE MODELI exported the zombie from milkshape as a MILKSHAPE ASCII.TXT file, ready to be imported into CFX. Then click Windows and choose Material editor, you should see a window popup like in the pic below...
Okay, lets start using Lightwave for real then. Keep your Modeler running, and to the top left, click the "File" pull-down menu and select "Close All Objects". This will clear the Modeler so we can start over with our new project...
SCAN IN YOUR DRAWINGI usually draw a very rough front and side view keeping them in line with each other, then I scan them in, resize to about 500 pixels high, darken the image so that white vertices and lines show up when working over the top in milkshape...
To start with I selected all the faces in the Head (please read my other tuts for tips on how to select things) Then I pressed REGROUP and re-named the new group HEAD as you can see, now Click HIDE because we dont want that bit in the way...

In the next 20 minutes you will learn how to create a winter landscape. For this excersize you do need to have only a basic experience in Lightwave, so lets just start with it.
First of all I want to show note I don't want to show just THE way to create a water map. Water is one of the most difficult maps and you can't make one that you can use in all of your scenes, but for the best results you have to create one for every scene

ADD SOME FRAMES1. I Clicked the box marked red and typed 21 to give me 21 frames of animation, I'll add more later. 2. This area is the PLAY/LOOP RANGE markers, by pulling the arrows on either end you can designate which range of frames will play when you press the play button...
