  • How to merge cells in a table? {Tutorial for beginners}

    This short step by step tutorial shows you how to merge multiple cells to form a single cell. Follow the steps as shown below: 
     
    1) Now let start with a simple example on merging multiple cells and forming a single cell. Let us create a table as shown in Figure 1.

    2) Now let us merge all the cells in the top row to make it a single cell. Select the top row as shown in Figure 2.

    3) Click ¡°Layout¡± submenu from ¡°Table Tools¡± menu as shown in Figure 3 and click ok.

    4) Now click ¡°Merge Cells¡± Command as shown in figure 4.

    5) The resultant table after merging cells would be as shown in figure 5.
