| This step by step tutorial shows you how to open a file with a different program. Follow the steps as shown below: |
| 1) For this tutorial I have created a word doc named ¡°Sample¡± on desktop as shown in Figure 1. |

| 2) Right click on the word file and select ¡°Properties¡± from the drop down menu list as shown in Figure 2. |

| 3) When ¡°Sample Properties¡± dialogue box appears under General tab click ¡°Change¡± button as shown in Figure 3. |

| 4) When ¡°Open With¡± dialogue box appears click the small button to display list of programs from which you can select as shown in Figure 4. |

| 5) Now select a program with which you want to open and click ok, in this case I have selected ¡°Notepad¡± from the list as shown in Figure 5. |

| 6) Now you can see the MS Word file has changed to Note pad as shown in Figure 6. |
