This tutorial will show you how to make a connection to your FTP Server. Follow every single step shown below.
Open your Macromedia Dreamweaver. In this tutorial, I¡¯m using Macromedia Dreamweaver 8.
Click Site on the top and select New Site. See picture below.

Click on Advance Tab. On Local info name your site. You can fill with any names that you like. Example here i¡¯m using Vatos-x ¨C Dreamweaver Tutorial. On Local root Folder, click folder icon on the right and select your file folder on your local disk that contents your website files. You may also select a different folder for your image. But now I¡¯m just show you a basic way connecting to your FTP Server. You may need to change your HTTP address. Fill it with your domain name, where you want to preview it. Examples here, I¡¯m using http://www.vatos-x.com/tutorials/ so that I can preview my site on this address. See picture shown below.

Now go to Remote Info, on Access select FTP. Change the details such as FTP host, Login and Password. These three information are given by your hosting company. On Host Directory, fill with your folder¡¯s name that locate inside your server. For examples. I use to put my site on tutorials folder inside my hosting. So, I just fill it with /tutorials/. If your hosting using a httpdocs folder for your main file, fill it with /httpdocs/tutorials/. You may Test by clicking on TEST button after you fill every information required. You may get a successful notice if every information is right. See picture below.

For our last steps, go to Testing Server, on Server Model change it to PHP Mysql if you would like to use a PHP and contents a database. On Access, change it to FTP. As you see all the information on Remote Server has been copy here. But you have to make sure URL Prefix are same with HTTP Address on your Local Info. If it different, change it at Testing Server URL Prefix. See picture below.

Click OK and we¡¯re done now. You can see the different on your right side of Dreamweaver. Now you can upload your file into your server by just one click. You may see a blue arrow button that called PUT. It will upload your files to your chosen folder on your server. See picture below.
