How to Create Calm Water Cylinder Buttons in Microsoft FrontPage
Step 1 - Drawing the Button
First, we will draw the button. Go to the top of your FrontPage window and click Insert > Picture > Auto Shapes. Your Auto Shapes toolbar will appear on your page. Click on the Basic Shapes icon in the toolbar. Then click on the Cylinder in the menu. If you roll your mouse over it, it will say Can. Draw the cylinder on your page. You will have to draw it vertically and we will turn it to make it horizontal.
Step 2 - Turning the Button Horizontally
The next step is to turn the cylinder. Grab the green dot with your mouse and turn the cylinder horizontally. Now you can adjust the button to suit your taste. You can also shrink the end of the cylinder by grabbing the yellow diamond with your mouse and pulling it to the right of your page.
Step 3 - Apply the Calm Gradient Effect
The next step is to apply the calm water gradient to the button. Click on the button to select it. Go to the bottom of your window and click the arrow beside the paint bucket. Click Fill Effects when the menu pops up. Click on the Gradient tab at the top of the Fill Effects box. For the Color section, click Presets. Drop the Preset box down and select the calm water preset. Leave the transparency section at 0%. For the Shading Style, tick the Vertical field. Then click on the top right box in the Variant section. Click the OK button to apply the gradient to the button.
Step 4 - Apply a Border
Next, we will apply a border to the button. Click on the button to select it. Click the arrow beside the paint brush at the bottom of your window. Click More Line Colors and enter the following in the Value field Hex={9C,69,FF}. Click OK on the box to close it. Click on the Border Style icon at the bottom of your window. Click the ¾ pt line. You can choose another border style if you want too.
Step 5 - Creating the Other Buttons
Now you can create your other buttons. Right click on the button that you just created and click Copy from the menu. Right click again off of your button and click Paste from the menu. Use your mouse to drag the button below the original button. Repeat this step until you have all the buttons that you need.
Step 6 - Adding Text to your Buttons
Next, you will need to add the text to your buttons. Right click on a button and click Add Text. That will place a text field on the button. Type your text on the button. Change the fonts style, size, and color to what you want. Repeat this for all of your buttons.
Step 7 - Linking your Buttons
This is the last step of this Microsoft FrontPage tutorial. This is where you will turn your buttons into hyperlinks. Right click on your button and select Hyperlink from the menu. The Hyperlink window will pop up. Type the link for the button in the bottom field of the box. Then click the OK button to apply it. Repeat this step to link all of your buttons.
