Winter is just around the corner! Learn how to create christmas ice text with snowflakes.
Create a new file (File>New) of 1280x1024 px and 300 dpi, which must be processed with the Paint Bucket Tool (G) for giving it the color #427BA8

Apply on the new layer the next selection: Filter>Noise>Add noise


?and Filter>Blur>Motion blur on the same layer

?also Image>Adjustment>Hue/Saturation


Using the Rectangle Tool (U), it抯 possible to dark out the left top corner of our picture.

Set the next demonstrated parameters by making a mouse click on the layer we work with on the layers?panel: Fill 0% Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient抯 parameters:


Applying the same tool, try to represent a light spot on the right low corner.

Insert now the date of the next year:


Put together the ciphers into a rasterized layer. For the beginning we抣l create a new layer above the text抯 layer. Press Ctrl button to mark out the text抯 layer and the new one and then press Ctrl+E. Set on the new rasterized layer the next option: Filter>Distort>Ripple

Select also Filter>Filter Gallery>Sketch>Chalk and Charcoal


Applying the Move Tool (V) while keeping pressed Alt button, press 8 times on the button indicating up direction:
Next press Ctrl button to mark out all the doubled layers, except the top one and then press Ctrl+E. Hide for a while the top layer:

Choose for the new layer the next parameters: Blending mode-Screen

Set the next parameters for the top layer: Opacity 50%, Blending Options>Drop Shadow

Blending Options>Inner Shadow

Blending Options>Inner Glow

Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss

Blending Options>Satin


Make a copy of the very first background抯 layer containing the filters we抳e applied on it. Place this new copy above all the layers, setting also the parameters: Blending mode-Linear Light

Keeping pressed Alt button, make a mouse click between the copy of the first layer and the previous layer on the layers?palette.


Using the Custom Shape Tool (U), draw two snowflakes:


Do the same operations we did with the layers containing the ciphers, meaning rasterizing the layer, pressing Alt button and doubling them 8 times and then moving them on the up direction. Mark out the layers processed with the Move Tool (V), except the very top layer and rasterize them into a single one. Set also the next indication Blending mode-Linear Light, instead of Screen one. Apply for the top layer different parameters demonstrated below: Blending Options>Drop Shadow

Blending Options>Inner Shadow

Blending Options>Inner Glow

Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss

Blending Options>Satin

Place the copies of the background抯 primary layer containing the effects above the top snowflakes?layers. Press Alt button and make a mouse click between the layers containing the background抯 copies and the top layers containing the snowflakes:
