Automated sites

  2009-04-20 08:38:52

Now automated site scripts float around the interweb like the
picture of you flashing when you were drunk. I.e. it shows up
everywhere! but is it any good? Below is a small recipe that tells you
how to cook such a site up and check.

Ingredients

Well for test purposes I grabbed a a free script, and did some rough
editing of the provided template (and ofc added some adsense to it -
though be warned google does not like sites like this and you may be
penalized).

I then added a few comedy related keywords so the script could do its mojo.

I also added the Feedjit counters so to track traffic and origins.

Add the following to make the money soup flow

1)Grabbed a few EC and went and told some of the nice people there
to go have a look at the site and if anything takes your fancy, stumble
it for me.

2)Went over to Sitehoppin and added the site there.

Then I left it to stew for a week.

After it boils for 24 hrs let it cool for seven days

After one week it had acquired about 500 backlinks! It had got about 13000 hits from about 7k uniques!

This traffic though mainly coming from SU and Sitehoppin i had about
10% coming from google SE traffic and some even from yahoo e-mails!

Looking at the adsense stats I was getting decent page impressions and on average 18 clicks a day meaning about $1 a day.

The taste

Well considering it only took me about 3 hours to set it all up form
uploading editing and traffic generation $1 a day is good. You could
hit a lot of free hosts do the and multiply. The only issue being sites
such as these are frowned upon by google, so following this tactic you
may have your adsense account banned.

But this dish can be made better with a $2 dollar special sauce. The sauce being your own domain.

You basically do exactly the same except instead of adsense you sell text links. Either via TNX or Text-link-ads
you could even sell links on digital point etc. or using OIO publisher.
Remember though higher your PR and Alexa = Higher value. Just make sure
it doesn’t look like a splog or a a link farm
